Since I won't be able to go to an Easter service this year, I've been thinking of my favorite Easter hymns. And as a result, I've been humming them around the office nonstop. I'm pretty sure that between my humming/whistling and constant reminders that I'm leaving Tuesday, my coworkers are ready to get rid of me. Anyways, two my favorite Easter hymns are 'He Lives' and 'I Come to the Garden.' After some successful YouTubing, I've found some great Jesus channels (one HERE), and I've just been jamming to some beautiful old chorus hymns all week.
This has actually been a really great week. We have been having issues with our workforce not working up to their full potential - lack of quality and attention to safety. BUT we had a really great meeting on Monday morning and things have taken a turn for the better. We were all kind of holding our breaths because we were scheduled to hit our 600th day of work without a Lost Time Incident on April 1st. I'm happy to say that we are on day 603 of safe work! Everyday I realize more and more that there is nothing that would make me happier than to finish this project without anyone getting hurt :)
Speaking of April Fools, my lead inspector (Jimbo) and construction coordinator (Phil) got me good on Wednesday morning. I went into their office to talk about some planning that we needed to do for our Contractor, because their view of "planning" is significantly lacking. They both get frustrated with our Contractor but usually agree with me that we more often than not just need to do their work for them. On Wednesday, that was NOT the case. To put it nicely, they both said screw it, let the Contractor figure it out themselves, and they weren't going to do anything else to help them out. I argued that we need to work as a team to be successful, yadda, yadda. This went on for about 30 minutes back and forth, and they were not budging. I eventually gave up and said that I would just do it myself, put my head down, defeated, and started to walk out of the office...then the APRIL FOOLS came out....very funny.
In honor of my Uncle Billy's birthday (and Aunt Andrea a little late), here is a photo from quite arguably the best vacation EVER. I'm not sure there is anything better than being 7 years old in Disney World followed by the Disney cruise...
Happy birthday Uncle Billy...looking good! |
