So here are the results from my 2014 resolutions, a very sad 50% completion:
1. Run at least 1 half-marathon - FAILED
2. Visit at least 3 countries (Africa doesn’t count) - SUCCESS!
Funny how the 50% that I did complete just happened to be the fun, exciting, [expensive] goal - not the one that would better my health. However, I will argue that traveling is good for the soul, so if you look at it that way my health is improving.
The title of my last blog of 2014 is Auld Lang Syne. Every New Year's Eve when I hear that song, I get goose bumps but I've never really done any research on what it means. It turns out that the words date back to 1788. The song is asking a question of whether old times should be forgotten, and answers itself as a reminder to remember long-lasting friendships. AKA; the story of my life. It's pretty clear from my history of blogging over the past year and a half that my relationships mean SO much to me - all of which are long-distance relationships. Working in Africa where I'm plus 5 to 9 hours (depending on the time of year and where states) makes it pretty difficult to keep in touch with everyone back home. Lucky for me, I am beyond blessed with friends and family that put up with my ridiculous schedule and do a better job keeping in touch than I could ever ask for. I am sooo grateful for all of YOU and wish you nothing but the best in 2015!
This time next week I'll be en route home! Between now and then I'll work on coming up with my resolutions, so stay tuned :)
19 days down, 5 to go! xoxo...
